 The site was located within minutes of Manchester City Centre and was to be developed for luxury apartments. 7,500m3 of soil was sorted, segregated, bio remediated or disposed off site

In conjunction with the soil treatment works a series of groundwater abstraction wells were installed to enable the dewatering of excavations to take place and contaminated liquids to be collected
The waters were treated above ground at a rate of 10m3/hr and the treated water discharged to sewer under a Consent

Sorting and segregation, free phase removal, phase separation, GAC filtration, removal of suspended solids and bioremediation
Remediation criteria
Soil TPH values had to be < 5000mg/kg, the groundwater had to have less than a measurable sheen and show a significant improvement in quality of the dissolved phase
