Chemical Storage Facility, Bedford
During the redevelopment of this site that housed a former workshop and manufacturing facility previously unidentified contamination was unearthed.
Due to the high water table and constraints imposed due to the site being of significant archeological interest in situ treatment of the soils and groundwater was required.
Twenty two injection locations were installed and an injection program spanning 3 months implemented.
In situ treatment was effected by the controlled introduction of Oxygen Release Compounds and Chemical Oxidation. To stimulate the destruction and degradation of the contaminants.
